I love giving my kids books for a holiday gift, especially ones that are educational.  My travel and geography-loving kids truly enjoy books that teach them about countries and cultures around the world.  It definitely fosters that curiosity to learn more about the world and is a perfect travel gift for kids. Here are some of my favorites:

Where Would Santa Go? is great for kids ages 9 and under. Check out my book review about it.

The Ready To Read series is great for kids ages 4-7 years old. Two great travel gifts are these book collections Wonders of America for 4-6 years old and Living In Series for kids ages 5-7 years.

 

A great travel gift for kids ages 7-10 is the book Capitals which teaches kids about the sights, sounds, and history, and secrets of the world's capitals.

Kids ages 9-12 would enjoy the Lonely Planet Kids The Travel Book that teaches them about every country in the world.

My kids absolutely love this award-winning interactive talking world map for kids ages 5 and up.  It actually speaks to them and shares interesting facts when they press buttons.
